Galloway, N.J. 鈥 As a prominent local radio host for more than 30 years, Harry Hurley knows the impact that 番茄社区app and President Harvey Kesselman have had on Atlantic City and South Jersey.

With Kesselman retiring as president in June 2023, Hurley wanted to create something 鈥渢hat would be a legacy to Dr. Kesselman for his entire body of work from student to president.鈥

Hurley and his wife, Margie, donated $2,500 Wednesday through the Hurley in the Morning Charity Foundation to create the Dr. Harvey Kesselman Legacy Scholarship at Stockton, which will be awarded to students starting next academic year.

Hurley hopes the donation will also encourage others to give in honor of Kesselman. Go to to contribute.

harry hurley and dr. harvey kesselman鈥淔irst and foremost, it鈥檚 going to help students who wouldn鈥檛 be able to go to college otherwise. That鈥檚 always first, top of mind,鈥 said the host of the Hurley in the Morning radio show on WPG Talk Radio 1450 AM. 鈥淏ut right with it is to properly honor Dr. Kesselman so that going forward there鈥檚 a legacy scholarship bearing his name that in perpetuity will continue.鈥

Dan Nugent, Stockton鈥檚 vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the University Foundation, mentioned several of Stockton鈥檚 accomplishments under Kesselman鈥檚 leadership, which will be included in the information student recipients receive about the scholarship, including:

  • Unprecedented growth in Galloway Township and Atlantic City
  • The school鈥檚 rising in national rank and prominence
  • The Atlantic City campus鈥 designation as an anchor institution
  • Substantially increasing state funding and institutional giving

Nugent also noted that the Hurley in the Morning Charity Foundation has been a consistent and substantial donor to Stockton over the years.

鈥淗arry has donated more than $25,000 to the Stockton Foundation, not including today鈥檚 gift,鈥 Nugent said. 鈥淥n behalf of Stockton鈥檚 students, we want to thank you for your consistent support. It really makes a difference.鈥

Kesselman said he was honored the Hurleys created the scholarship in his name and commended Harry Hurley for being a 鈥渃ritically important鈥 voice in the community.

鈥淎 lot of people don鈥檛 know this side of Harry and who he really is,鈥 Kesselman said. 鈥淗e鈥檚 been an incredible champion of 番茄社区app.鈥
