Paige Richards Named 2019 Newman Civic Fellow

Galloway, N.J. - 番茄社区app sophomore Biology major Paige Richards of Galloway Township has been named Stockton鈥檚 2019 Newman Civic Fellow in recognition of her extensive community service and outreach.

鈥淧aige is one of the strongest Service Learning student leaders,鈥 said Service Learning Director Daniel Tom茅, who nominated Richards for the award. 鈥淪he鈥檚 also been doing a lot of work to get the Stockton name out. She鈥檚 very dedicated to her school.鈥

Richards serves as a Bonner Leader in the Office of Service Learning, and is an active member of the Honors program. After her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, Richards began using these platforms to advocate for breast cancer awareness, and even coordinated her own Breast Cancer Walk last fall.

Richards is also minoring in Childhood Studies. She plans to attend medical school and eventually specialize in a pediatric field.

鈥淚 am so grateful to have been given this award,鈥 said Richards. 鈥淚 hope to continue on and make a difference in the pediatric world.鈥

The Newman Civic Fellowship recognizes community-committed students at Campus Compact member institutions. Campus Compact is a national coalition of more than a thousand colleges committed to civic education and community development.
