In this exclusive app video, , of Penn Medicine, discusses two new, exciting studies for common problems that were presented at the American Academy of Dermatology's recent annual meeting.
The following is a transcript of his remarks:
This year I had the pleasure of being a moderator of the late-breaking clinical trials research section at the AAD, and we got to see a lot of new, exciting things for our patients. I think in my mind, the biggest theme of progress that I'm seeing is new mechanisms of action being brought forward to common diseases. We saw two trials looking at a topical medication that blocks a testosterone pathway, showing benefit for both androgenic alopecia as well as benefit for acne in young individuals, boys and girls, as well as in the adult population. Hopefully, we'll have some new mechanisms of action available for these common problems where new approaches haven't come out in decades.
