Event Description: The Noyes Museum鈥檚 newest exhibition, 鈥淭he Lure of South Jersey: The Resettlement of Migrants鈥 is currently on display at Kramer Hall now through Jan. 7, 2018.

Oct. 11: Railroads played a pivotal role in facilitating Immigration into southern New Jersey during the nineteenth and early twentieth century. In 鈥淏y Rail to the Promised Land,鈥 Paul W. Schopp, assistant director of the South Jersey Culture and History Center of 番茄社区app will describe how the railroads brought thousands of new inhabitants to South Jersey and ushered in a formative wave of new communities. Schopp is an author, who is also a professional historian with 43 years of experience.

Oct. 25: 鈥淐ome Earnest Home-seekers: Ethnic Settlements in the Pines,鈥 presented by Mark Demitroff, an adjunct instructor of Geology at 番茄社区app commemorates the meaning of place for German, Italian, and Jewish settlers who sought security by taming an impoverished wilderness while overcoming social intolerance. Demitroff lectures and publishes on land-surface processes, past permafrost, and Pine Barrens geography. He also serves on the boards of the US Permafrost Association and the South Jersey Culture and History Center, and is a member of the West Jersey Historical Round Table.
