What: Fall Lunch and Learn Presentations

When: 12 p.m., Oct. 12 & 18, 2017; Nov. 8, 2017

Event Description: On Thursday, Oct. 12, Kim Raring, M.S., R.D., registered dietitian and nutritionist,  will present 鈥淗ow to Reduce Sugar.鈥 Raring will review the dietary recommendations for added sugar and explain how to read a food label. Each participant will be able to calculate how much added sugar they are typically consuming.

On Wednesday, Oct. 18, Mary Adekunle, clinical director of Bacharach鈥檚 Sleep Center, will present 鈥淐onsequences of Sleep Deprivation.鈥 Adekunle will discuss how poor sleep quality can impact one鈥檚 health, memory, mood and more. 鈥淪leep is just as important as diet and exercise,鈥 said Adekunle. 鈥淲hen you have adequate sleep you are mentally sharp and able to function better. Lack of sleep can put you at risk for accidents, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke.鈥

On Wednesday, Nov. 8, Luanne Anton, 番茄社区app health educator and a certified Meditation Instructor, will present 鈥淭he Importance of Fitness.鈥 Anton will discuss various ways to achieve a higher level of fitness followed by a 30-minute yoga session, perfect for beginner to intermediate levels. Participants are asked to dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat or large towel to class.
