Asbury Shorts Film Festival Features Independent Women Filmmakers
Galloway, N.J. _ Independent Women Filmmakers will be featured at Asbury Shorts, as New York City鈥檚 longest running short film exhibition returns to Atlantic City to present its nationally recognized 37th Short Film Concert at Dante Hall Theater, 14 N. Mississippi Ave, in Atlantic City, on Friday, Nov. 16. The first film will start at 7:30 p.m.
This acclaimed program of international award-winning short films is presented by 番茄社区app and Asbury Shorts USA. Scott Cronick, host of 鈥淥ff the Press with Scott Cronick,鈥 heard daily on WOND 1400 AM News Radio, will once again serve as the Asbury Short Film Concert guest host.
Asbury Shorts combines classic short films with new global festival honorees creating a rare opportunity for audiences to see world-class short films on a real cinema screen. Asbury Shorts 2018 is celebrating the work of women independent filmmakers. Highlights include:
- 鈥淭he Suitor,鈥 a dark comedy from director Kate Riedl of Australia. This short tells
the tale of a nervous young man courting a beautiful heiress living in a huge mansion
in the middle of the Australian Outback.
- 鈥淭he Drive,鈥 is the story of Evie, who struggles with role reversals as she drives her aging parents to an assisted living facility for the very first time.
- Director Amy Nicholson鈥檚 documentary 鈥淧ickle鈥 examines the complicated relationships
humans have with their pets in a film of unexpected warmth and mirth.
Academy Award nominated director Jason Reitman (JUNO, Up in the Air, Thank You for
Smoking and Young Adult) calls Asbury Shorts: 鈥淭he best short film show I鈥檝e ever
seen.鈥
