Alternatives to Opioids

Galloway, N.J. 鈥 番茄社区app鈥檚 American Democracy Project/Political Engagement will host two free panel discussions in November that focus on alternatives to opioids.

 鈥淎lternatives to Opioids: Holistic Approaches to Address Opioid Addiction鈥 will be held at 2:30 p.m., Nov. 15 at the Campus Center Theatre. Drs. Sreelekha Prakash, Thomas Nolan, and John Guers will focus on the role of exercise, physical therapy, and other therapeutic interventions as alternatives to opioids. They will also discuss prevention strategies to avoid opioid use or dependencies.

鈥淎lternatives to Opioids: Medical Marijuana,鈥 will take place at 3:30 p.m., Nov. 28 in the Campus Center Board of Trustees Room. Panelists include area physician and pain management specialist, Dr. Patricia Kasica, attorney Bridget Zayat-Hill, and former Dispensary Manager of Compassionate Care Foundation, Thomas Olah.

The second panel will discuss medical marijuana and its effectiveness as treatment for chronic pain and other conditions, as well as current and proposed policies to regulate marijuana for medicinal use.

Both events are free and open to the public.
